Set Up a Class in SpanishDictionary.com Classrooms (For Teachers)

This article outlines how to set up classes in the SpanishDictionary.com Classrooms feature, independent from other learning management systems. If you use Google Classroom at your school and would like to add your classes from Google Classroom to SpanishDictionary.com, please see this article: Link a Google Classroom Account to SpanishDictionary.com

The SpanishDictionary.com Classrooms feature allows you to assign vocabulary quizzes and grammar lessons to students and track their progress on the assignments. To get started, navigate to SpanishDictionary.com on a desktop or laptop computer, click the three dots in the menu at the top of the page, and select Classrooms.

Then click the blue "Get Started" button.

A box will pop up that gives you multiple ways to create a new (free) account. If you already have a SpanishDictionary.com account that you made with Google, Facebook, or Apple sign-in, click the corresponding button. If you already made an account with your email address and a password, click the "Log in" link at the bottom and proceed to log into your account.

If you already have an account, scroll down a bit in this article to the class set-up instructions.

You'll then be asked how you would like to set up a class, and you can choose from either linking Google Classroom to SpanishDictionary.com or creating the class directly on SpanishDictionary.com. If you want to use Google Classroom, see this article for instructions: Link a Google Classroom Account to SpanishDictionary.com

If you teach both Spanish to English speakers and English to Spanish speakers, please create two separate accounts with separate email addresses, one for SpanishDictionary.com and one for our other site inglés.com.

When you select "Create on SpanishDict", you'll need to type in the name of the class that you want students to see when they sign up and then click the blue arrow button at the far right end of the text box.

You will then see a page with different options for inviting students. You can copy and share the link to the class with your students, click the option to share on Remind, or tell students to navigate to https://spanishdict.com/join and enter the class code that you see.

This article shows what your students will see when joining a class: Join a Class on SpanishDictionary.com Classrooms (For Students)

Even if you're not ready to send the link/code to students, you can click the "Continue" button, which will route you to the assignment-creation page.

If you want more information about our vocabulary and grammar assignments and how to send them to your students, please check out the articles linked at the bottom of this page.

If you'd rather not make an assignment right away, click "SpanishDictionary.com" above the assignment-creation buttons to return to the homepage.

To find the class(es) that you created, click "Classrooms" in the site menu (may need to click the three dots to find it). You'll then see a dashboard with all of your synced classes. From the dashboard, you can add another class or create assignments.

When you hover your mouse over a class tile, you'll see three dots appear in the top right corner of the tile. Clicking those dots will reveal a few options: "Invite students", "Edit class name", and "Remove class".

Please note that removing a class permanently deletes all class information from SpanishDictionary.com which cannot be recovered.

Clicking on the class tile will take you to the dashboard for that class.
