How to Access Grammar Lessons, Articles, and Quizzes
From the Website
To find our grammar lessons, reference articles, and quizzes while using the website on a computer, first click the three dots at the top of the page, followed by "Grammar".
If you're viewing the site on a mobile device, you will need to tap on the menu in the upper right corner and then select "Grammar" from the list.
Once you're in our Grammar section, you can either search for something specific (e.g., adverbs, pronouns, subjunctive, etc.) or scroll down and choose a topic from sections divided by difficulty level (Introduction, Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced). If you would like to complete a lesson or quiz, you will need to be signed into an account (free or Premium).
It's important to keep in mind that the search functionality on the Grammar page is not as robust as a search engine like Google or Bing. Therefore, searching for longer or more vague queries on this page likely won't get you the results you're hoping for. In that case, you could try doing a more general search on your favorite search engine, which will likely yield SpanishDictionary.com results at the top of the list.
From the App (iOS and Android)
To access the grammar resources in the app, open the app's menu, tap on Grammar, and then follow the same steps described above to start lessons, read articles, and take practice quizzes.
Interactive Lessons
When you open a topic from one of the leveled sections, you'll see a list of the available lessons and quizzes in that grammar skill.
You will need to have a SpanishDictionary.com account in order to use these lessons. However, it's free to create an account, and you do not need to purchase a Premium subscription in order to use the lessons and quizzes.
Reference Articles
Underneath our lists of interactive lessons and quizzes, as well as on pages that do not have interactive lessons and quizzes, you'll find a reference article that provides an overview of the selected topic.
Old Practice Quizzes
If you're looking for the 40-question practice quizzes that we offered in the past, prior to releasing our interactive lessons, you can now find them by clicking on a grammar topic in the Beginner, Intermediate, or Advanced sections (not the Introduction section), and then selecting one of the "Extra Practice" quizzes (1, 2, or 3) in the list of lessons for the topic.
Here's an example of what a list of lessons looks like with the "Extra Practice" quizzes at the bottom, taken from our " Ser vs. Estar" page:
SpanishDictionary.com also offers a step-by-step Spanish course, which can be found by clicking "Learn Spanish" in the menu. The course currently starts at the absolute beginning and works up to a high beginner level. We will continue to add new lessons to the course on a rolling basis to increase the difficulty level over time.
